More info on the screening, courtesy of accompanist David Drazin:
It's going to be DVD projection. It's scheduled for Tuesday the 26th at 7:30 p.m. When I questioned whether it would be dark at 7:30 I was told that they could wait a little bit if necessary but their experience tells them "Yes" it will be dark. Actually it's getting pretty dark already around that time. Dawes Park is along the lake and is close to Northwestern University. Parking shouldn't be a problem . There's lots of space along the lakeside roads though it might be a little crowded since the show is nearly the end of the summer series. There's a location in case of rain which I don't recall right this second, but I'm hoping for a nice night. Also, we'll start with the short One Week.

Call me a not-a-purist, but DVD projection on SHERLOCK JR. is better than any 16mm I've seen, and better than most of the 35mm prints. That film could use a new show print. If you're in Chicago, be there....

Club Foot recently performed their score at the Castro for the SF Jazz Fest, and it was also DVD projection. I suspect there are not a lot of quality prints available, which is a shame. Drazin's work comes highly recommended.
