Multi-talented heartthrob John Gilbert (later left standing at the alter by the love of his life, Greta Garbo!) stars as Jim Apperson, a wealthy young idler who – to the worry of his mother and the pride of his father – enlists during the early days of World War I, Sent to the front lines in the French countryside, Jim bonds with his working-class bunkmates Slim and Bull, and falls in love with young French farm girl (Renée Adorée, La Bohème ), despite having a girlfriend back home (Claire Adams; The Sea Wolf). Avery Tunningley has been playing silent movie accompaniments for nearly twenty years. In addition to performing regularly at Proctors, he performs at the Capitol Theatre in Rome, NY, at the New York State Fair, and more. Avery teaches piano and organ and is the Organist and Director of Music for St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.
