CLEVELAND: SIlent Film Festival

In mid February there are going to be a bunch of silent film events, particularly celebrating Cleveland's native son, composer J.S. Zamecnik. The Cinemathque will be running a series of films associated with Zamecnik, including Wings (with the newly recorded reconstruction of the New York Premiere score), Redskin (with the Movietone disc soundtrack), The Wedding March (with the Mont Alto orchestra playing our interpretation of the Zamecnik cue sheet score), and Sunrise (which Mont Alto scored early in our career with a lot of JSZ's cues).
We'll also be playing for Steamboat Bill, Jr. at Oberlin College's Apollo Theater. This isn't a direct Zamecnik score, but it's one of my favorites; not least because J.S. Zamecnik's "River Jordan" makes a perfect theme for the film.
