I've got a sign up for 2 pm today (if anyone gets this) in the rabble room. If that's not amiable, please let me know.

Jack, those I've talked to don't think 2:00 Friday is going to work- it's pretty late for lunch and it's in the middle of a film. I took the notice down- it just said "2:00 tomorrow" anyhow and was confusing. Maybe we can make an announcement at the Palace & all sit together

So I've seen a little Facebook action on this topic, but I'd love to read somebody's account of the whole fest. Who's up for it?

I'm not in any condition to do a full runthrough (I've tried in the past for Capitolfest) but will drop in my views where I can.

Grand Forks' own Chris Jacobs has done splendid assessments the last two years. He sits in the front and keeps notes. I'm sure he's on it.

Thanks, Eric! I started writing up some notes Sunday night before dinner and finished during a three-hour layover in the Minneapolis airport on the way back Monday afternoon, with a few finishing touches on the plane. My capsule comments on the 2011 Cinefest are now up in the "Talking About Talkies" forum. I also did a summary of highlights for the High Plains Reader which should be on their website by the end of this week (or I could also post it to the forum if anybody wants a shorter variant version of the capsules).

This year's show was stupendous (CINE-sational), attendence up 15%, new generation onlookers eager to know what it's all about, brisk trading and selling - Shorty
