Searching for Vitaphone Disc

I have a (small) home movie theater done in the style of a 20s-30s picture palace. Original posters adorn the walls, and a corner is dedicated to memorabilia, though currently there is only a Maltese Falcon replica. Thought I'd ask members here if they might have, or know of someone who has, a Vitaphone disc (unplayable of course - contact Vitaphone Project otherwise!), that they'd be willing to sell. It appears that that is the ONLY thing one can't find for sale on the 'net!

Even though he runs an auction house you may try Kurt Nauck at http://www.78rpm.com/" target="_blank he might be able
to help you out in your search.

You have to be a little patient, but it can be done.

Vitaphone discs will occasionally turn up on ebay, but not often. Kurt Nauck lists them now and then. I would contact him directly and let him know you're interested. He will put things up for auction that are more desirable and have a broader collector interest - if you're wanting one for a display piece, he might have something that's odd or unplayable that he wouldn't list in one of his auctions.

The one I have is for a lost short - "Movie Horoscopes" - that doesn't have much interest, so I was able to pick it up at a fairly low price.

I collect 1930s-50s radio transcriptions, 16" discs that are similar to Vitaphone discs, and I've noticed that fewer are popping up in auctions over the past couple of years. We might be at the "tail end" of estate auctions for the people that would have had these things stuffed away in an attic somewhere.

Doesn't the Vitaphone project perhaps have a disc they no longer need? An inferior copy of something already restored?
