Well, it still exists, and you can go see it in London or at a BFI branch somewhere else in the UK. That's at least something.

spiny, that's great news. I didnt know the films still existed, so at least there's a chance a company like Network might be able to release it.

Marlowe, I should have qualified I'm looking for good copies of those two films. I've seen them on ioffer and torrent sites. STRANGER is overly bright (and might have had some other issues - I'd have to check the torrent video I have).
MAN WITHIN looks terribly soft (same as torrent, so I didnt download it): http://www.ioffer.com/i/the-man-within- ... -569087749" target="_blank" target="_blank

Well, until that time you can try to order them from ITN Source or view them somewhere, but for both options you need to be in the UK.

do you mean this site: http://www.itnsource.com" target="_blank
Did a search but it didnt turn up. I dont know if BFI would have digitized the film to preserve the content.

Well it's been said to me that that doesn't mean they don't have it. The BFI have it so it survives.
But anyway that's only if you really really want it, because it doesn't come cheap!!
