In the interest of full disclosure, I expect to be ripping the book apart so I can scan images. Normally I abhor this kind of thing, I love me my books.

I'm planning on utilizing it for blog fodder on lost films and lost actors and actresses. Since it's a large book, in order to scan, one will need to damage the book. Hence the need for a cheap copy.

Anyone have a dupe copy that is not in great shape they're willing to part with cheap?

Donna - you can go to http://www.addall.com" target="_blank" target="_blank and search for the title. I did this a moment ago, and it came up with 6 pages of copies for sale! They were as low as $9.90 on the first page; I didn't look beyond that, but there may be some for even less. I've had great luck finding obscure titles via addall.

Thanks Danny, I know all about AddAll (ABE, etc.) but I thought I'd ask here first in case there was an extra lying about.

In 30 years when my kids move me into "the home", into a tiny efficiency, and my kids sell all my stuff because there's no room for it, I'm still going to keep my Pictorial History of the Silent Screen, even if I do also have it on my Kindle!

wish this had been online a couple of weeks back. I chucked a falling to bits copy in the bin (well, recycling bin!)

Oh well! I't okay, I scored a cheap copy for $6 online. This will do nicely.

I was able to get a copy of this book last year at the local goodwill for the princely sum of one dollar. At the same time, I also scored copies of Bob Thomas' Heart of Hollywood, The Marx Brother's Scrapbook and Everson's Complete Films of Laurel and Hardy for a buck each too. That was a good day.

This is why you keep your eyes peeled! The other day I picked up a copy of Colleen Moore's autobiography - signed, no less - for five bucks!

As it happens, I do have a spare copy of the Blum book, but I think the postage it would take to get it overseas would probably be more than you could pick it up elsewhere. I've never tried too hard to offload it - It's one of those books everyone could do with having at least two copies of. :D
