Thanks for this! Schertzinger composed the score for the whole film, as well. I've been reading Moving Picture World issues from 1916-1917 and have really been taken with what a huge b.o. success this film was. As big a deal as this film was at the time, it has not gotten shown all that much or been released on DVD/Blu.

Thank you Ben. I'm not the greatest performer (this are notation software recordings) and I feel more comfortable with tangos.

I never cease to be amazed at how prolific a composer Victor Schertzinger was, in addition to being a top director (generally at Paramount). Aside from Edmund Goulding with "Ma'amselle" and "Love (Your Magic Spell is Everywhere)", I can't think of too many directors who also made the Billboard charts!

The only version of Civilization that still exists is a cut-down that was distributed to churches in 1930. It is much shorter than the original release version.
