Streaming via Library Card

Unread post by Rick Lanham » Mon Jun 11, 2018 9:58 am

Some lucky folks in some places can stream 30,000 movies (including films from the Criterion Collection)
for free just by using their library card.
Your library has to sign up with the Kanopy system:

I've had Kanopy for a year or so and it's still adding new films.

Tonight I watched "Dawson City: Frozen Time" which I didn't know they had included. I already purchased it on Google and Blu-ray but I loved seeing it all over again. Great chance to see it if you have the library card.

I just joined in July, and I'm finding it very worthwhile.

I'm only getting 6 viewings per month with my local library card. Does anyone here get 10 or even 20 a month as some people do?

I get 10 a month from the New York City public library. I imagine that the library itself sets the rules since they seem to vary.

You're welcome!

Now if only my library participated…
