differences between a TV and movie commercial

Argentina first color broadcasts were in 1978 although it was officially adopted on May 1st 1980, despite attempts to have it before and a number of stations that couldn't make the change until one year later.
This meant that commercials were seen on TV in black and white until 1980. However, many of them were produced in color, sometimes to be shown in movie theaters or just to keep it in that way or to be shown in other markets. However, a few of them seem to have been framed to be exhibited in movie theaters while others were not.
As an example, here is a full screen version, put in black and white, of the very first commercial to promote the Ford Taunus model. Unable to find a good quality version I had to reedit the commercial based on three versions that are available in YouTube (in color), which explains why you will see some unwelcome logos at the beginning:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtghct ... shortfilms" target="_blank
And here is in color the wide screen version that I remember seeing in a movie theater. Although I was 4 years old at the time, I always remembered this commercial (in the movies and on TV):
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtghdn ... shortfilms" target="_blank
But there is something funny about this ad... it is not really good! In fact, neither one of the Taunus commercials produced by JWT until 1980 are really good. The good ones, however, were produced after 1980.
