MARIE WILSON-Down To Their Last Yacht+My Friend Irma

One of the pleasures in watching Down To Their Last Yacht
- besides it not turning out to be one big dream sequence-
was the surprise of seeing 17 year old Marie Wilson (1916-1972) in her 1st film role.
Wilson, neglected today- despite her screen, stage, radio, and tv achievements -
would, in a more reasonable world, have been able to retire on royalties from
the estate of her character's carbon copy, Marilyn Monroe...

Unfortunately I forgot to record DOWN TO THEIR LAST YACHT, but no doubt it will be on again and someday may show up as a DVD-R from Warner Archives.
Marie Wilson is indeed unjustly neglected. Her endearing goofiness is one of the saving graces of SATAN MET A LADY that helps keep it watchable and even fun (along with Alison Skipworth, of course). Although I've seen only a few of her films, she's always enjoyable in them.

It's strange, but I've had arguments with people about her performance in the film. I thought it exactly as you wrote, but others, for some reason, do not like her at all. I thought she created the endearingly dumb blonde, or at least made it popular.
