On the Buster Keaton portrait is a fine example of that rather exacting and easy to read cursive from the hand of the man whom it was claimed couldn't read or write.

The disparity in the winning bids is surprising. Louis Wolheim is one of then higher bids at almost $400. In the bargain basement is Lawrence Tibbett at $9.99. Edmund Lowe and Warner Baxter only did slightly better. Pickford and Fairbanks were middling and was nice for me to see some of my favorites such as Al Jolson and John Barrymore bring in some big bucks. The Lon Chaney photo is from his last session in a pose that I've never seen before.
