Happy 100th birthday to Orson Welles, star of stage, movies, magic, wine commercials and radio.

I collected some items from Broadcasting from his time as The Shadow to the War of the Worlds broadcast:

The item above is from the 15-August-1938 Broadcasting.

Thanks, Orson.

(Who my dear friend Arthur Anderson, ex-Mercury Juvenile, describes as, "a genius - and a pain in the ass!")

A man whose work in all fields is always worth the time; and one who loved, and was loved by, the medium of Radio/Audio - where he continued to work for most of his life.

-Craig Wichman
(Quicksilver Radio Theater, etc.)

P.S. - Good coverage of all of this over at an excellent site, WELLESNET
