A very talented, and very dear, giving man.

Rest to him.

I just learned that WBAI host Max Schmid's 7p -11p GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO tonight (October 30th) will include something from our recently departed Cool Ghoul, a HARRY LIME ghost story from Orson Welles, Halloween memories from Jean Shepherd, as well as my own FRANKENSTEIN (at 8pm.)

99.5 FM in the NY area, and streaming live at http://wbai.org/" target="_blank

I remember Halloween evening performances by Zacherle over the New York Oldies radio station, WCBS-FM, probably in the 1980s. He was certainly entertaining. RIP

Rosemary, he had that gig for years.

And he was great at it; he told me once, that he actually enjoyed his Radio years more than his TV ones.

(And the link above contains a few rare radio moments from The Cool Ghoul.)

Best,
-Craig
