Well, even if I can't afford to bid on these posters (wait a minute . . . I CAN! Aw, never mind . . .), I can still download the images to my screensaver, which now has about 300 stills and posters to flash on my computer screen whenever I'm present but not working . . .

I'd gladly pay 6K to hang that Richard Dix image (item 5) in my boudoir.

Wow, weren't posters really something back then. I love that poster for THE LADY WHO DARED.

Oooh, the Ten Cents a Dance poster. "She was a dance hall hostess, but the band never played Home Sweet Home for her!"
Fred
"Who really cares?"
Jordan Peele, when asked what genre we should put his movies in.

Yes, that's a great-lookng poster.
But have you ever seen the movie? The best thing I can say about it is that it's rare and it's short. No wonder Billie Dove retired soon after.

Are you familiar with Reynold Brown, the artist who designed posters for '50s sci-fi movies? He created the iconic Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman image, among many others. Brown's work was always lurid and exciting, but the product never lived up to his ads. I recall hearing that an exhibitor told him they should punch sprocket holes in his posters and run them instead of the pictures.

Getting back to this stash of Pre-Code gems, I love the one for City Streets. Coop and Sylvia Sidney look so elegant. Good movie, too.

Yes, indeed.
I watched an excellent documentary about him called (I think) THE MAN WHO PAINTED BUG-EYED MONSTERS a while back.

Gorgeous quality..

I have a similar story...back in 1990 I bought an old small town theatre in Michigan. On looking in the attic, I discovered sandwiched in between ceiling rafters some large envelopes of 1920s one-sheet posters and lobby card sets. A lot of the posters were Morgan Litho and gorgeous. One was a Stan Laurel solo picture, but most were obscure silent film titles. Alas, I needed funds to restore the theatre so sold them all to a poster dealer for $1000 cash. Remember this was 22 years ago, so the posters weren't worth what they are today....
