How much of mussolini can be felt in that, I wonder? I sure spotted some encouragement of strong leaders in Scipione l'Africano.

In 1860 you only have three or four shots with our national hero, Garibaldi, and he is always seen in Very Long Shot, doing nothing special, so I wouldn't say the film supports strong leadership...
