Rose Marie 1923-2017

Unread post by ClarenceE » Thu Dec 28, 2017 7:21 pm

Dear Rose Marie passed at 2 p.m. this afternoon. I am saddened by her leaving us, but I’m buoyed by all the joy and pleasure she gave us.
Rest in Peace.

Oh, so sorry though I am glad she had a long and active life until the end.

As mentioned in the article, she had very recently become very active on social media, where she seemed quite comfortable sending out tweets. It always makes me happy when a person is mentally sharp into their 80s and 90s.

Rest in peace.

I enjoyed the heck out of her tweets...I swear, she was just tweeting the day before she died. Sharp, curious, funny. Rest in peace, good lady.

When I checked her up after watching 'The Child Wonder' I was amazed that we still had a living link with the Vitaphone era. A shame that she's gone, but not perhaps surprising.

She was a hard-core professional-wrestling fan, a performance-art form of its own, and there are a number of films/ kinescopes of her at ringside at the Hollywood Legion Stadium (an indoor arena) in Los Angeles, cheering or jeering (not using any raw language) some of the rasslers. She'd come right up to the ring apron and yell at the guys she didn't care for. Some are on Youtube.

Rumor had it she had a personal interest in the one or more of the fellows, who was, IMO, not a very good performer, but a box-office draw. He could have benefitted from acting lessons from her...
