Wow, there's something I never heard of. Joe Sawyer I know as a character actor.

Does anyone know if TCM has ever shown any of these? Always liked Sawyer as a familiar face, but haven't seen any of these. And thanks to looking him up on IMDb, I learn he was Canadian, which I didn't know before.

They showed them a few years ago. I see I saw Hay Foot and Fall In in January 2007. I seem to recall them showing up more recently, but I felt no need to review them.

I first encountered the two Lippert titles that William Tracy and Joe Sawyer were re-teamed in, on a late-late-show about forty years ago. "As You Were" and "Mr. Walkie Talkie," I believe. Took a number of years before even I learned of the Roach streamliners.

Anyway, I'll certain pick up the release. I'm a sucker for anything like this. I'd pick up volumes of any of the Roach streamliners... the Rogers/Beery Jr. stuff, the William Bendix cab-driver ones, the Bobby Watson "Hitler" ones, the two with Marjorie Woodward, etc.

I will look forward to the other Hal Roach Streamliners---the non-military titles.
Personally, I never enjoyed military comedies. While Joe Sawyer is a great character actor, I never found
William Tracy as a great movie personality.
