Sony Screen Classics surprise.

Post by antoniod » Mon Dec 13, 2010 4:02 pm

Sony's offering "No Sex Please, We're British" with Ronnie Corbett in It's on-demand titles. That's a nice surprise , and I don't even think that It had a U.S. theatrical release.

It did, but it never got past the big cities.

It's a surprise that anyone thinks it's a 'Screen Classic'.....
I could use some digital restoration myself...

Nowadays, the studios will call anything a classic if it helps them sell it.

Columbia Screen Classics

Post by moviepas » Thu Dec 16, 2010 5:04 am

Columbia made or released a lot of stuff from Britain but some they lost the rights to but they do have things like No Sex Please which is now out in UK & I got it with a bunch of that type of material in the past 3 weeks from there. Columbia had a lease on the old Shepparton Studios where they made Oliver! amongst other titles in the 1960s. The Wicker Man original was also made there. No Sex was also a stage play.

Columbia also released the Isabel Sarli films... not exactly the kind of films I would consider classics, although a few are fun to watch.
