Warner Archive - DON JUAN 1926

Post by LeRoyShield1930 » Tue Mar 15, 2011 7:26 pm

Just got the WA release of DON JUAN. Comes with Vitaphone short program. I had the MGM/UA Laser Disc release of this set. The shorts from the laser disc set were different from this DVD set. On the Laser Disc set the shorts had their main titles, but faded out before the "Presented by The Vitaphone Corp...a Subsidiary of Warner Bros." Almost all the shorts have this "tag" title card at the beginning of each short on the new DVD (on the 80th Anniversary of DON JUAN this is how the shorts were presented on TCM). This differs from the Laser Disc presentation. The Anna Case short has completely different titles all together. Some of the shorts aspect ratio seem different. Has anyone else noticed this?

Is the print transfer exactly the same as the old Laser-disc? Is it burned to Dual-layer Media? How can the image and audio not be compromised if it is not on Dual-layer Media?
