Am I right in saying that the following are the only films of this type with colour sequences inclu
ded which are readily available?
Broadway (PD seller so ??? quality)
Follow Thru (PD seller so ???quality)
Golddiggers of Broadway (Busby Berkeley Coll. Vol. 2)
The Hollywood Revue of 1929 (WAC)
It's A Great Life (WAC - finale omitted)

The Warner Archive DVD of IT'S A GREAT LIFE has all the color sequences restored and in their proper places. The finale is not omitted.

Many thanks for that. The desciption and audio of the finale on Vitaphone Varieties would make the disk worthwhile for that alone.
I've also read that Glorifying the American Girl with somewhat worn colour is available- does anyone know where?

In the opening comment on this thread, by some titles is the notation "PD seller" As far as I know, NONE of those titles are in the public domain, so a better description would be "gray-market seller" or "unauthorized seller". Although some movies are very obscure, more often than not, the studios renewed the copyright as a regular order of business--not necessarily looking for future re-release.
Now GLORIFYING THE AMERICAN GIRL is in the public domain--best print I've seen is the Grapevine films edition.
Never saw a copy with restored color segment....

The UCLA restoration including the Technicolor scenes is scheduled for the upcoming Capitolfest in Rome, NY, August 12 thru 14.

WHOOPE was officially released on VHS via Goldwyn. Not sure if it is on DVD, sounds like it isn't by virtue of your question. It is in color and a good print

Actually, Universal claims copyright on this. We had to license next week's Capitolfest screening through them. (The print is, as noted, from UCLA.)

According to a reliable PD stock footage distributor, GLORIFYING THE AMERICAN GIRL (1929) is in the Public domain:

Just like Kino, who has various PD titles and will gladly take your money to book them, Universal may claim distribution rights for the archive's restored version you mentioned.

Reel Images sold 16mm prints of Glorifying the American Girl from the 1970s through the 1990s, so I would think it is PD also. However, maybe the restoration has materials contributed by Universal, so the restoration is copyrighted.
