Website certification

Unread post by linquist » Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:17 am

Hi - This concerns Windows access to the Media History site and Lantern.
I have been accessing the Lantern site through my Windows laptop for the past year with no problem. (Never have problems on the Mac.) This weekend, Windows started blocking the site due to certification irregularities. So far, I've managed to bypass the laptop's security, but it is saying that there are problems with the certificate and that I should contact the website. Is anyone else having problems? Is there something that the MHDL can do? Can they inspect their certificate and check to see if its okay.? Thanks, Alan

It works for me with Firefox. Make sure that you are connecting with http:// rather than https://. http://mediahistoryproject.org/

I have the same issue with Chrome, and so have to use another browser.

What happens when you try contacting the website? The webmaster needs to renew a certificate. Security is good.
