Soft relaunch of Media History Digital Library website

Unread post by David Pierce » Sun Apr 16, 2017 7:05 am

The Media History Digital Library has relaunched its website with a new logo and a new, cleaner interface.

Available for the first time are several hundred books from the Prelinger Library and the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum. There are still a few areas that will be fixed before the formal relaunch, including cleaning up the categories and filling the "All Magazines" category.

The website address remains http://www.mediahistoryproject.org

The Lantern search platform is currently being revised and a new interface will be available in mid to late summer.

David,

Wow. That is great. Researching my grandfather's filmography tonite and found 3 titles in one search in the Publication "Camera" February 16, 1923. "The Devil's Bowl" ("The Man Who Would Not Remove His Hat") 1923 with Neal Hart,"Oil's Well" 1923 with Monty Banks (Hallroom Boys), and "The Law Rustler's" 1923 with William Fairbanks.

Did not see that reference at all in Lantern in the last 6 months so appreciate all of your hard work on this relaunch.

Thanks again.

And I saw a bunch of issues of Universal Weekly yesterday I've not seen before containing some excellent articles on Tom Tyler's serials "Phantom of the Air" and "Clancy of the Mounted."

Thanks for all your work!

I just love the fourth headline in the cover list:

Some things never change, eh?
