Both restored in 2009. What the hell? Let's get these released. Kino or Flicker Alley, let's get to it. Also, what's the deal with Les Vampires? You have to pay $100 for the U.S. Image Ent. 2000/2005 release now? If no one wants to further clean the picture, or import the gaumont restoration, at least a re-release would be nice. Maybe because it's not english translated or tinted? The same goes for Aelita queen of mars. The only low priced editions I came across recently at a decent price were bootlegs.

Are you not interested in the 2000 release of
Les Vampires, which you can find for $40 at
Image?
Or the 1999 release of
Aelita, available for $25 from
Image?

Try to buy from those links you gave me. It will send you to amazon. Those are their MSRP prices listed.

Sounds like simple supply & demand to me.
It's easy to demand that others spend all the time, money and effort needed to release these titles for you, but don't expect deep discount prices if they do. Who else do you expect will buy them if there's such a limited market (and there most certainly is)?
I've already seen enough of Aelita to know I won't be buying that again. I've got what's available for (the mostly lost) original "Maciste" and most likely, a later episode wouldn't mean as much to me as that.
I'm still happy with the original first release of "Les Vampires" (it was a $100.00 when first released on VHS), so we don't see things the same way.

Agreed with Aelita. All russian film is no good. Miss Mend is the best I've seen and it was emulating American films.
I think there is enough market for Les Vampires. Make the price tag $30 and you will sell a whole lot of them.

I admit that I didn't know they'd become scarce. I've had my copy of ]i]Les Vampires[/i] for only about a year, and I know I didn't pay three figures for it. I may have found a good buy on ebay.

I guess I demand too much. It appears that Gaumont has Tih Minh and Barrabas restored so Kino should bring them over eventually with english intertitles and color tinting like they did with Fantomas(my favorite serial). Maybe they will also bring the Gaumont restoration of Les Vampires which has a cleaner picture and longer run time than the image edition. It has been translated to english on the artificial eye edition but only in optional subtitles not the intertitles themselves. As far as Judex, the American release looks like the only one. Thanks again Flicker Alley.
