It's in a Buster Keaton film... is it when he's trying to enlist in the Army in The General or something?

There's a website you should know about called Intertitle-o-Rama, where you can find transcriptions of the title cards from many famous silent films.

The films are listed chronologically, dated from when they went into wide release. You'll find The General at February 1927. I just checked it, however, and didn't find a title card reading "I'll wait" in the recruitment scene, or anywhere else in that particular movie. But it's possible I missed it, so you might want to take a look.

I think this quote is from "The Cameraman."

Yes, I bet that's it. When he's given the brushoff applying for a job at the newsreel place.

I don't know if you've checked this on your own, but Intertitle-o-Rama confirms that "I'll wait" is the 12th title card in The Cameraman.

Are you sure it's not from STEAMBOAT BILL, JR when he visits his father in jail with a loaf of bread filled with hardware but his father refuses to see him? Or is that title "I'll wait until he's famished." Of course Keaton often re-used gags and situations with variations.

Youtube has most parts of the movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjFn9kA_vYQ" target="_blank for ex.) but not the first part =\

do you happen to know where they upload old movies like these..? i'm talking about direct view/streaming not download...?

Yes, in Steamboat Bill Buster says something like "I'll just wait until he is famished."

If you have a Roku or similar streaming device you may find The Cameraman on one of the free classic channels. I did see it once, sorry I forget the name of the channel - might have been Pub-D-Hub - but it was there under Silents.
