I wonder where all this stuff ended up:

And check out the model of the cabin used by Chaplin in The Gold Rush, I don't think I have ever seen it before. Where is it now?

Re: Harry Crocker's Movie Prop Musuem
This museum was briefly mentioned on the LA Daily Mirror blog in relation to the history of people attempting to start film museums. There was a Nitrateville post about the article, but I can't find it.
It looks like Crocker made several attempts to start a museum, the initial one in 1928, and another in 1936. There is an original article about the first incarnation at http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1 ... 284,310429 which has some further details about its contents. No doubt they were dispersed some time after the failure of the 1936 museum. The Margaret Herrick Library has Crocker's papers, which might yield more information if you're interested enough.
I think the 1928 museum was housed in the former Peerless Motors showroom on Sunset Blvd. This building was in a very poor state of repair the last time I saw it, but apparently it is to be restored and incorporated into a new development. There's an article about that at http://www.hollywoodheritage.org/preser ... less2.html.

Here's my first post that details the history of trying to create movie museums in Hollywood:
