One print, at least, survived until 1971, when it was shown at the Nat. Film Theater, London, according to Wiki. All current sources report present survivial status "unknown." Could it have survived all those decades of silent-film neglect only to vanish in "enlightened" times?

It might be helpful if it were known where the BFI got that print in 1971. Was it loaned from a private collector (say for instance, young Mr. Brownlow)? Did Bebe Daniels keep any copies of her own films?

The thing is I have seen stills from SHE'S A SHEIK before, and by contrast this just appears to be more from an earlier Cecil De Mille picture? You may still be right though? Who knows?

I came across an ad for She's a Sheik in an old newspaper advertisement and tried to find out where there might be a copy of the film. When I saw the Wikipedia article claim that the movie had been shown in 1971 I wrote the BFI Nationa Film institute about it. I received a reply that the movie was actually shown on November 24, 1970. However the author of the email said that nobody was at BFI when the film was shown was still at BFI and they have no record of the film in their archives and there were no records of the film in other archives the author of the email checked.

He did ask around and there was speculation that the film might have been in the collection of Philip Jenkinson. I remember making a bit more of an effort at the time to find the film based on the new information but I didn't succeed and right now I don't remember exactly what I did.

As an aside the lobby card and the other image of Bebe Daniels were awesome. Do you suppose the lobby card is in the public domain by now? I'd like to add it to the Wikipedia article. Even if it wasn't, fair use might allow the use of a reduced resolution image.

When I was putting together the report, this was one of the titles I tried to track down. There was one, less than perfect, 16mm print. The collector has died, and his film collection was dispersed. The film may exist, and I have a request through some collector friends to see if anyone in the U.K. knows the fate of this copy.
