WOLFBLOOD (1925)

Post by drednm » Thu Sep 06, 2012 8:16 am

Wolfblood is supposedly the first film about werewolves, but I think that's a bit overboard. OK little film about lumberjacks in the Canadian forests and a woman who owns the company. There's a little about "half breeds" and rivalry for the girl. In this one, it's literally wolf's blood that transfused into the body of our hero, George Chesebro. From that point on he's feared as being half animal. Starring Chesebro who also co-directs (although his name is misspelled). Anyone seen this one?

I've seen it. I like to think of it as an embryonic wolfman movie. Not fully formed but you can make out recognizable parts.
It's a 7/10 for me. Sorta creepy if you don't read up on it before watching it.
...and this is a pretty nice title, if you ask me.

We discussed this awhile back ... I think the consensus was that the dodgy biology behind the central concept just made it too difficult to suspend your disbelief.

Here's the thread: viewtopic.php?t=8581

Interesting enough picture, but not one I feel I'll have to see again.

I agree.... interesting but not a classic. It reminded me of those teens Maine films with Evelyn Brent and Mary Astor.
