Yes and yes. An original Lumiere print in apparently good condition with original can? You don;t see many of those pop up on ebay.

Re: Lumiere Film At Auction
Thanks, Richard.
On the surface that was my take, but I did find image of the characters on Google and several sites that you can download it, or a near identical film with the same characters, which made me wonder if it is as stated, "one of 5 known", and how well it has been disseminated. I am sure it will regardless, sell for quite a sum.

Remarkable, how Kovacs' "Nairobi Trio" resemble them in number and antics.

Wow 800 euros, plus a 23% buyers premium! I really doubt any archive would spend that much money on a film that was so short.

That's just the opening bid amount which is just over half the low end estimate. Lovely if that amount would prevail.silentfilm wrote:Wow 800 euros, plus a 23% buyers premium! I really doubt any archive would spend that much money on a film that was so short.

EDIT:
They are basing it on past performance; a sale from 2008. Lots 887, 888, and 889:

Re: Lumiere Film At Auction
Pleased to report that the film stayed in my comfort zone and I have added it to my collection. Arrived from Vienna late yesterday.

Do you think I can rent it out for a handsome profit now?
