Silent Film Stars on Radio: Part 2

Several months ago I posted a thread on OLD HOLLYWOOD IN COLOR called, "Silent Screen Stars on Radio" and promised that if it seemed popular, then I would do a sequel. Well, it did and I did. If you'd like to hear Norma Talmadge discuss her film career, D.W. Griffith, and Gloria Swanson too, John and Lionel Barrymore enact a scene from RICHARD III, and Marion Davies stammer a bit as she talks to Cecil B. DeMille, then you might want to pay us a visit at the link below.

Just for folks who may not know it, both John and Lionel Barrymore did a good deal of radio. One of Jack's showpieces was STREAMLINED SHAKESPEARE:



Longer-lived Lionel did much more, including a twenty-year run as a legendary character which I discussed on-air recently:
