Frank Minnimatsu (Killer)

I am looking for more information about the murder of Francis Boggs by Frank Minnimatsu "the friendly janitor". All I can find online is that:

A. Minnimatsu shot Boggs because he was an "evil man".
B. He had planned the shooting for six months.
C. Something had caused Minnimatsu to "go berserk", though I don't know what.
D. Minnimatsu had nearly been fired for a previous violent outburst, but was allowed to keep his job.

That's it! Does anyone here know what the story really was? Did it have to do with a woman?... with the fact that Minnimatsu was Japanese?

I'd like to write about this for my college film assignment, but I can't locate anymore information about it.

Much thanks!

So... nobody knows, huh? Well, that's okay then. I guess it's just one of those weird little things in history that no one bothered to get to the bottom of... I will keep checking back periodically, however, just in case someone comes along that has an idea.

Bob has done extensive research on this, and from talks years ago, thought Minnimatsu was a stooge.

It seems like this is the only early murder in Hollywood with not a lot of conspiracy theories surrounding it?...Wikipedia says he "went berserk"...And yes i know wiki is not always the most reliable source..so kinda makes me wonder? even though i'm really not too big on conspiracy theories...I used to be but not so much anymore..Good luck on your paper!

If Frank Minnimatsu was set up as an easy target then

a) did they have witnesses of his having a psychotic episode?

if they did they he probably killed Boggs as well.

If there is no evidence of him acting strangely, then

b) what are the motives to rub Boggs out?

Why would anyone want Boggs dead?

Seems somewhat provable if we were there at the time and knew all the details
of the case.

Are police records still existing and are they available to historians?

Well I have to watch out because my mind usually goes straight to a conspiracy! So I have to reel myself back in :D .. I live in a state that has a hard time keeping roads paved and schools open..so I have a hard time believing they could handle much more!

California's State Archives have just given their historic prison records to Ancestry; Frank Minimatsu's records and photos were included.
