As a long-time Stage player, William Gillette is amazingly good in his one and only Film turn.

Alas, the movie itself, the long-sought SHERLOCK HOLMES, is otherwise dated even for its date of 1916.

Edna May was only in one film, Salvation Joan (1916). Her character's name -- Joan Crawford!
