Status of Beaumont's Main Street

Post by Lokke Heiss » Fri Mar 28, 2014 4:23 pm

Does anyone know if Main Street is an extant film?
Here is the information from Silentera.com. It concludes the status of the film is unknown.

Main Street
(1923) American
B&W : (length unknown)
Directed by Harry Beaumont

Cast: Florence Vidor, Monte Blue, Robert Gordon, Anne Schaefer, Gilbert Clayton

Warner Brothers Pictures, Incorporated, production; distributed by [?] Warner Brothers Pictures, Incorporated? / From the novel Main Street by Sinclair Lewis. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.37:1 format.

BTW, the only remake I can find is the 30s, I Married a Doctor, which IMDB gives mixed, mostly positive reviews. Is that film on the TCM rotation? I've never seen it listed.

Walt Disney, responding to someone who asked him why he didn't immediately do a sequel to The Three Little Pigs

The LOC database shows nothing surviving for Main Street, nor for Warners' other Sinclair Lewis adaption of the time, Babbitt.
