Rudolph Valentino visits ... a hippie??

Post by coolcatdaddy » Thu Jun 26, 2014 6:18 am

The BoingBoing blog had a link this morning to this interesting article about "proto hippies" in Southern California. Included in the article is a photograph of Rudolph Valentino visiting a local celebrity "nature boy", "Peter the Hermit", in 1920.

Here's part 2 of the article, where the author goes into a geeky investigation of the guitars that Peter the Hermit played. He has three images of Valentino visiting Peter - this is apparently when "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" was being shot on location in the area.
