For all you antiques out there (and you know who you are), I highly recommend Grapevine's release of "Cinema Antiques: The Stencil Color Collection."
This set of 18 short films, ranging from 1903 - 1910, is a brilliant example of the earliest attempts at color. There is really something magical and surreal about these films. Adding to the importance for fans of early fantasy is the inclusion of many films by Segundo do Chomon. I'm always fascinated by the similarity between him and Georges Melies.
Most amazing is the music. Original player rolls accompany each film.
If you'd like to be swept away to another world of early 20th century cinematic delight, this is the collection for you.
