Wanted: The Impossible Voyage By Georges Melies On 16mm

Post by caldog123 » Wed Jul 22, 2015 1:35 pm

Hello,
I am trying to put together a silent film "screening party", mainly consisting of films by Georges Melies. They will all be projected by a 16mm film projector. The only one I can't seem to find is the Impossible Voyage. Does anyone know where I could find it? I would prefer it to be hand colored. Also, I should mention that I am 14, but I don't think that matters.
Thank you,
Cal

George Melies: First Wizard of Cinema
put out by Flicker Alley. There are 173
films on the DVDs. Still on Amazon.

For the price of this DVD collection (under
$100.00) you get more Melies for the money
than was possible by young collectors your age
in the 1970's.

Most of the old Blackhawk color prints sold in the 1970s are probably faded by now. Later prints by David Shepard's Film Preservation Associates might or might not be on low-fade stock. These would be pretty rare and I'd bet that they were sell for at least $150 on eBay. This title was also sold by Golden Era Films and EmGee, but probably just in B&W.

You might try asking at 16mmfilmtalk.com.

Thanks for all your help! David Shepard and I talked, and this film is no long "wanted", we made a deal.
