August was the 95th anniversary of the final ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. The 1914 film YOUR GIRL AND MINE was produced by William Selig and the National American Woman's Suffrage Association and distributed by World Film, featuring an action-packed story of ills that befell a woman in a state without suffrage. It received mostly very good reviews at the time.

Lots of great suffrage news around at the moment:

The BFI has a new film, Make More Noise! Suffragettes in Silent Film, on national UK release and a pending DVD: http://www.brentonfilm.com/news/make-mo ... collection
I've just received a screener and will get a review up asap.

There's a restoration drive now on for Mothers of Men, a 1917 suffrage film.

Last but not least, the East End Women's Museum, focusing on the cause of suffrage, is fast becoming a reality.
