"A Return Engagement of Pa's Imported Son in Law" was a 1915-1916 Sunday full page colour comic strip that featured a silent actor chappie named "Charlie Chapman" - although we know and love him as "Chaplin". He appeared in about 40 strips. Always silent. The last one I found, where he hitches up with Theda Bara is a hoot and a half.

I've found black & white versions of these on microfilm, published in the Washington Herald, and wondered if anyone in Nitrateville has seen these in colour in this newspaper or others? It was distributed by the McClure Syndicate.

I'm currently trying to reprint a full collection all of the "Charley/Charlie Chaplin Comic Capers" daily/Sunday strips - which were officially sanctioned by Essanay (although not by Chaplin himself) - and thought that this unofficial strip would be a nice addition to the book. More news on publication when I have it.
