Beginning and end of John H. Collin's career

The endpoint of Collin's career is straight forward: You can use either his date of death, which was 10/23/1918, or the release date of the film he was working on when he died, Satan Junior, 3 March 1919.
But his starting point is not so simple - the IMDB lists his first film as a director as Making a Convert 1914, with previous work as a writer in 1913. Does anyone have better information as to when he first became involved with Edison, and more specifically, the film he first (co)directed? Thanks.
