New Texas Guinan DVD Giveaway (Now on Ebay)

Well I finally finished up the latest set of Texas Guinan Silent Westerns which includes The Girl of Hell's Agony and The Wildcat. The Girl of Hell's Agony was copied from the British Film Institute and has a fair amount of nitrate decomp. The Wildcat was copied from the Library of Congress and is good condition. It was repatriated from the Netherlands in 1992. It was missing about the first 100 feet or so and the inter titles were in Dutch. I created a new title card and brief summary of the missing footage and created new inter titles in English.
I will give away 3 copies to randomly selected members who post on this thread. You have until noon Thursday May 17, 2018. For anyone posting more than once only your first post will count.

Thanks for the compliment Dana. I don't know that I would call mine "top quality". Maybe a step above average? I don't do any of the restoration like you'd find on Ben Model's excellent work.

I don't do restorations either, but I've been known to change musical scores, running speed, and edit out errors found in restored film and even replace foreign titles with English ones.
It's a wonderful hobby where, when I view something again, it just the way I'd like to see it. Of course, these are just for my own collection.

Assuming imdb's dates are correct, Texas Guinan was born just one day before another sassy vaudevillian Sophie Tucker in 1884. Sophie became a huge star in Britain, thanks partly to her long career and life, but apparently Texas was on our list of "barred aliens". Our loss, I'm sure! I'd never even heard of her until I saw the biopic Incendiary Blonde on UK TV.

Incendiary Blonde
This 1945 Technicolor film with Betty Hutton as Texas Guinan is long overdue for a DVD/Blu Ray release that I have not seen since MCA sold their Paramount package to my local TV station here in Australia more than 50 years ago!!!

If only this could be found but not likely now but...

Incendiary Blonde aired on TCM about fifteen years ago of course that won't help for getting access in Australia but it's still out there at least. Perhaps one day it will be released in Universal's MOD dvd line.

This is the first time I've replaced foreign titles. I've added a beginning title or a The End to some, and a summary for missing film, but it's always been with a black background. This time I added a decorative background to them. I think it turned out pretty good, and I won't be afraid to try it again.
