The films are from Filmoteca Buenos Aires.
Last week I posted a film featuring a Rin-Tin-Tin imitator (Thunder) that later I identified as THE SILENT AVENGER (1926), in a surviving abridged version:

And here is another imitator (Peter The Great) in a condensed version of THE KING OF THE PACK (1926):

Finally, here is Rin-Tin-Tin himself in two films that also survived in abridge versions:

Those films that they showed in Filmoteca are simply great and I regret that I was unable to capture a few more shows. The internet signal is always weak, but it is much better than nothing at all.
I managed to capture LIGHTHOUSE BY THE SEA (with titles in Dutch) and most of THE NIGHT CRY; since they wanted to "protect" their own print (in Spanish), they only showed the first 45 minutes only.
I captured a few more rarities that I won't be able to post here due to their length.
I hope to be able to capture more shows in the following days.

Rinty shows up on "More Treasures from the American Film Archives" in the film CLASH OF THE WOLVES. He's amazing, and it's a very fun film. The set is expensive, but you also get a nice episode of THE HAZARDS OF HELEN, Lubitsch's LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN, and lots of other nice films.WaverBoy wrote:I'd love to see a Rin-Tin-Tin film; are there any good DVD options for old Rinty? He's one silent star who could use a remastered box set, I'd wager.

Since I'm not on facebook I can't see them, so I'll just ask--just how abridged are they? What's the running time of each?radiotelefonia wrote:Finally, here is Rin-Tin-Tin himself in two films that also survived in abridge versions:

Also, I'm pretty sure both are missing from Jon Mirsalis' list of surviving WB silents.

They run less than 20 minutes, which is time that Facebook allows.dr.giraud wrote:Since I'm not on facebook I can't see them, so I'll just ask--just how abridged are they? Although abridged, they actually condensed the stories. In one of them Rinty kills the villain in a very violent way.
I have captured more films from that show... I may post them later.
