Octavius, the Amateur Detective

This 1914 Edison series of 1-reelers starred Barry O'Moore as Octavius. At least a couple of these survive (on YT), but they struck me as being incredibly unfunny. The Adventure of the Hasty Elopement features Viola Dana as the bride and involves a stolen car. The other surviving film is The Adventure of the Wrong Santa Claus.

O'Moore was in well over 100 short films from 1908 to 1915. He was sometimes billed as Herbert Yost. He returned to films for talkies, making three more films between 1929 and 1934. He has many Broadway credits.

I was thinking of using the Viola Dana film as an extra on The Cossack Whip DVD but I didn't like it at all.
