I'm looking for suggestions for silent film scenes featuring people bundled up, cold house, no heat, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are cold houses in Way Down East, The Trail of 98, and The Bluebird. Not to mention Nanook of the North! and similarly, The Silent Enemy, of course.

"Such Is Life" (1924) Staring Baby Peggy.
The initial scenes with that child shivering in the cold!

Haven't seen it in ages, but Back to God's Country (1919) is pretty wintry. A lot of it was shot outdoors around Lesser Slave Lake, Alberta, but Nell Shipman must go indoors to warm up at some point.

I know there has to be one where they break up furniture and toss it in the fire. Not sure if it's in a silent or in a talkie. Maybe that happened in the Von Sternberg's "The Last Command" (1928)?

It's not a silent film, but I just wanted an excuse to suggest WC Field's Fatal Glass of Beer (1933).
