Photo ID?

So here's Marion Davies in a photo. It's apparently from MGM publicity. The poster is for the 1929 Worlds Fair in Barcelona. The guy is identified as Marcel Ventura.

Who was Marcel Ventura? Why is Davies wearing this peasant outfit (from Marianne?), and why is it an MGM publicity photo? I've never read anything about Davies (and Hearst) traveling in Spain ... although it's certainly possible. If she's in Barcelona, why is she wearing this bizarre outfit?

IMDb lists a Marcel Ventura, born in Chile in 1901, with three bit-part credits. Why would she be posing with him? Is he someone else? He looks like King Vidor to me. So many questions!

A few items here
Was he a writer/press member, with a local radio program? And later, TV producer?
Or (same guy?), in studio publicity?Image
A VO performer in the 1st French dub of Disney’s Snow White?

Easy... this was photographed at the MGM studios and it was a stunt to promote that World Fair.

I found an article that says Ventura was a representative of the Spanish government wh came to Hollywood in 1928 and assembled a 7-reel film at Paramount, working with George N. Kates. The film comprised sketches about the stars at the (fake) Exposition in Barcelona. The article only mentions Paramounts stars and says the film would debut in Barcelona that summer.

Thanks, all. This is a new one on me. Never heard of him but he apparently was around Hollywood for a time in various capacities.
