For those interested. Here is the surviving footage of MARION DAVIES' 1919 film The Belle of New York. I wrote an intro, all new intertitles, and music. This is the oldest footage of a Davies film. This was filmed just before Getting Mary Married, which survives whole.

Thanks, Ed, for your efforts. This first film adaptation of the 1897 Broadway musical reminds me a bit of GUYS AND DOLLS. I think several of the Salvation Army clips are out of order. Loved your low-key piano accompaniment. Keep up the great work.

Yes, I realized right off the bits were out of sequence and a few are repeated, but I didn't want to attempt to re-sequence them since much of the story is missing anyway. Glimpses.
The film is archived at Library of Congress. Maybe some day more of it will be found.....
