Which is the best version of this available on DVD?
I've come across a Eureka version of the Murnau-Stiftung restoration with the original score, and was thinking about buying this version. Is this the one to get??

The Eureka Masters of Cinema version and the recent KINO version are basically the same:

MoC being a PAL release and Kino being NTSC will be deciding factor for most people. Kino has two versions in their set, one with English intertitles and the other with German. MoC only has the German intertitles. The same restoration of the film is used by both MoC and Kino, and it is stunning. They also share the same score, which is good but I think the Gillian Anderson score, which has never been released with the film but only as a CD, is better.

Hmmmmm.... wouldn't it have made sense to have the English intertitles on the MoC version also?
Any particular reason why not??

The MoC version has english subtitles. They like to keep the film as original as possible.

Which is ridiculous because if you saw NOSFERATU in any different country (not that you probably would have), it would have been replaced titles anyway.
Of course, a lot of this could be done with subtitles on the DVD, a function which is woefully underused. You can do a lot with the subtitle feature that most people don't realize.

So, where did Kino get the English intertitles? Did they create them specially for the release?
