Bardelys Coming Soon

Post by Danny » Thu Nov 05, 2009 9:32 am

Just a future heads-up. TCM will be broadcasting "Bardelys The Magnificent" in January, along with John Gilbert Rediscovered.

Also, the John Gilbert Society is going to be reactivated in the new year. A new website is being done and I'm looking forward to joining since I missed it the first time around.

Though as always, what helps future DVD projects most is buying current DVD projects.

There's probably no better choice for the borderline-potential-silent-fan on your holiday list, among this year's crop of DVDs-- a riproaring film in a great print and with a first-rate score, and a great backstory about being lost and found.

Yes Bardelys is a solid film..... and Monte Cristo wasn't bad....

Now if we could just get the rest of the surviving Gilbert silents into a big boxed set....

Does anyone have any idea what the sale for Bardelys were???
