old Clara Bow and Rex Bell candid snapshots questions

This is another old snap shot I've had for years. Since I finally have a scanner after over 5 years I can start posting images like this again!
Mr. and Mrs. Bell. It was suggested that they may be hosting at Clara's IT CAFE.
Can anyone verify this or suggest another location or occasion?
EDIT: I am looking at the carpeting. Could it be the same as the one on the stair case behind these guys? May or may not be the same event. Rex Bell may have been a tux, too, since he was/is the LT Gov of Nevada at the time.

Zanuck is receiving his Thalberg Award from Douglas Fairbanks at the Biltmore Bowl at the Biltmore Hotel or at the Cocoanut Grove, not at Clara's It Cafe.

The head of that statue is pretty big!
I can't find a photo of this award on the net. Do images of this statue exist?

Thank you for the link. Looks like this was shot in 1938.
I wonder how this was shot and how I ended up with it. Were fans allowed into the ceremony back then?
Does this ceremony survive on film?
About 10 years ago I bought a large collection of fan snapshots of Hollywood stars. The same guy is posing with the celebrities in some of them.
The two above are the only ones I haven't parted with, IIRC.

Thanks very much for posting the photos and in such nice scans. I am grateful to have learned about Clara Bow's "It Cafe" and Rex Ingram as well as more about the history of the Thalberg Award.

The Walking Box Ranch which was home to Rex and Clara is still standing. It is located on the road between Searchlight, NV and Nipton, CA. The Spanish-style house is quite nice with a large dining room.
During World War II, they held B-B-Ques for Patton's troops training in the nearby desert.
Rex began his political career after he and Clara broke up. She moved back to Santa Monica and he moved his sons into Las Vegas. He had a well-regarded western wear (with his own label) shop on Fremont Street.
His oldest son, Rex, Jr still lives in Las Vegas and has some of the original furniture from the ranch and some of the original tack equipment.
