Nosferatu continued

Post by Danny » Sat Jun 26, 2010 2:42 pm

I really hate to bring this up again, but the mystery keeps stabbing me in the throat. Maybe there is someone out there who is connected to KINO Video, who can help me.

I just got a 2009 KINO release of Nosferatu called RESTORED EDITION from the public library. It is only ONE disc, but apparently the same transfer as the TWO DISC release by KINO in 2007, titled THE ULTIMATE DVD EDITION. The single disc of this same edition is not even listed as being available on KINO, even though it was release just last year. I am talking about the exact, same edition here, not all the other one.

The only thing I can figure out is if KINO released a single disc version to public libraries. No, it doesn't make sense, but neither does this single disc version that I am looking at right now.

Very mysterious.

The single disc came with the Murnau box set. This is a caveat with Kino is that if they are in box sets, you're going to miss out on the second disc. So, some people may end up double dipping or going for the MoC version (via a all-region/non-region player).

Oh ... THANK YOU, kndy. You've solved the mystery. That explains it. The single disc does not include the German Language disc. Now I get it.
