Theda Bara family question

I always thought, based on my readings, that Theda Bara had one marriage, to Charles Brabin, and no immediate descendants when she died. How true is that? A certain website that deals with celebrities says Bara was previously married to a man named David Dalton and had at least two children with him . Dalton is said to have died in 1918 presumably in the Influenza Epidemic. If so why has this first marriage and her children been so omitted from bios on Theda? and that means she may have grandchildren and the like, but just kept her private life , well, very private.

Well, how about because it's not true. The only website that says anything about this is WhosDatedWho and this same website claims "David Dalton" dated Lillian Gish, Jean Arthur, Billie Burke and Mary Astor. This makes it pretty unlikely that he died in 1918.

Theda was rushed from one film to another in the 1910s. I think it would have been pretty obvious if she had been pregnant (twice!) both on-screen and in the release schedule. Also, why would she not have custody of her children after her first husband died?

Theda was only married once, and to Charles Brabin. As far as immediate family is concerned, there was father Bernard (who predeceased her in 1936), mother Pauline (who died in 1957, two years after Theda), sister Lori (who died in 1965) and brother Marque (who died sometime before 1955, but I have not been able to find his date of death).

Eve Golden, in her Bara biography, Vamp, tells the story (which was apparently only in the Cleveland Leader) of a mysterious "boyfriend" of Theda's who popped up in early 1918, though this is almost certainly a publicity stunt.

Joan Craig, who knew Theda when she (Craig) was a child, has said that Theda and Charles wanted to adopt her from her own family, and had progressed enough to discuss it with Craig's mother before she was refused; I hardly think Theda would have tried such a thing if she had children of her own.

Guys thanks! I feel embarrassed cause I sort of fell for this info. but still felt compelled to double , triple check here as I knew Theda was a fresh ongoing topic at Nitrateville. I hadn't run into the the David Dalton- Mary Astor, Lillian Gish, Jean Arthur tallies otherwise it would've been a dead give away that the listed info was bs. I always feel the only bad question is one that is not asked. 8)
